GOODBYE, HUMANS. HELLO, TULIP.
Atrium 916
Hellxia’s newest collection of paintings confronts today’s
environmental issues. Opening art reception with artist Q&A
and complimentary wine.
Confronting environmental issues through illustrative paintings,
experience the newest art exhibition by Sacramento artist, Cat
Xia (Hellxia.) In this collection, Xia introduces “Tulip,” a
central figure featured in their work. Symbolizing resilience,
Tulip is a flower spirit born into a world that is strange and
polluted, yet still marked by pockets of profound beauty. Tulip
and their companions search for inner peace to help guide the
planet toward a healthier future. Opening reception for “Goodbye,
Humans. Hello, Tulip” will be at the Atrium, Saturday, August
16th. Artist Q&A and complimentary wine.
Xia’s dedication to ecological advocacy is integrated into all
aspects of their art-making, from conceptual development to the
painting process. Working with recycled paper and reclaimed
canvases, Xia has a zero-waste approach. In this new collection,
Xia confronts complex issues with illustrative narratives to
create Tulip, a symbolic figure who reminds us to nurture our
environment and integrate mindfulness into our daily lives.
The Exhibition runs from August 9th until October 4th.
