Talk Books! A night at the Museum with an Author Talk and Book Signing
Sacramento History Museum
Join us at the Sacramento History Museum for a special evening with Shelley Blanton-Stroud; a Northern California author known for her historical mystery series set in San Francisco during the 1930s -1940s—Copy Boy, Tomboy and Poster Girl. Blanton-Stroud is a California native, retired teacher and is active in the community serving 916 Ink, Gould Center for Humanistic Studies, and Sacramento theater.
Recently, she completed her 4th book—An Unlikely Prospect. Set during post-World War II San Francisco, the community celebrates Japan’s surrender but amid chaos, mass murder and mayhem take place. Sandy Zimmer, a young widow and publisher of the Prospect newspaper, is driven to share the truth using her paper to investigate the riot. She will experience the influences of a male dominated field, political resistance, and scandal amongst authorities. Based on little-known historical events, An Unlikely Prospect shares Sandy’s journey driven by integrity for the truth and determination to succeed against all odds. At what cost does she print the real story?
Be swept away with the stories Shelly Blanton-Stroud will share during her talk. There will be time for a question-and-answer period, then enjoy light refreshments and meet Shelly to get your book autographed.
