Welcome the new year at Countdown on the Cobblestones, a lively event bringing music and festivities to the Old Sacramento Waterfront on New Year’s Eve. The event will feature live music, interactive activities, and a light show, providing a family-friendly alternative to midnight festivities.

“Countdown on the Cobblestones is free and open to the public, making it an accessible way for families and friends to come together and celebrate the arrival of 2026,” said City spokesperson Jennifer Singer. 

The celebration will run from 5 to 10 p.m. on Dec. 31, with entertainment and activities stretching across K Street and Front Street. Join us for a night of celebration and live music featuring:

  • DJ Epik
  • Element Brass Band
  • Lab Rats
  • DJ El Indio 
  • and more!

Entertainment – 5:00 pm-10:00 pm

 

Countdown with Light Show – 9:00 pm

Starting at 9 pm, Pyro Spectaculars, Inc., in partnership with Stage Nine Exhibits, will create an intimate display of light and pyrotechnic effects in front of the Holiday Tree at Front and K Street. The custom presentation will light up the space between the historic buildings. Please note, there will only be one countdown at 9 PM, with no midnight show.

Parking/RT/Transit Info

Parking

*The district will be closed to vehicular traffic, please utilize one of the neighboring garages in the area for parking, or ride share for this event.*

Road closures beginning at 2pm – 1 am include: 

  • 2nd Street
  • Front Street
  • K Street
  • J Street
  • I Street
  • Firehouse Alley
  • The only street to remain open will be L Street from the entrance off Capitol Mall, and Nesham Circle. This street will be used primarily for valet guests visiting the Firehouse Restaurant and/or staying on the Delta King. 

Pre-pay at Old Sacramento Garage and Tower Bridge Garage is  $20. Pre-pay on NYE will begin at 3:00 p.m.

Suggested drop off locations – these locations will include a short 5 min walk to Old Sacramento

On the east side of 4th between L Street and Capitol Mall

On the north side of J Street between 3rd and 5th Street
