Old Sacramento Waterfront is home to spooky stories all year long, but you can stroll our streets and alleyways this October, feeling like you stepped into a real Halloween town. See the big pumpkin, track down all the Scarecrows around the neighborhood, listen to a ghost story, and try a themed drink or bite all season long.

October is officially Halloween Town in Old Sacramento Waterfront! All month long, Sacramento’s historic district is getting into the spirit with spooky experiences, fall flavors, festive activities, and plenty of reasons to come explore.

Now in its seventh year, Movies Under the Stars returns every Thursday and Friday with a lineup of Halloween favorites, cult classics, and family-friendly films under the stars. Movie nights will feature food and drinks from local vendors, themed activations, costume contests, and more. New this year, Frights & Flights invites guests 21+ to keep the Halloween fun going after the credits with themed beverage flights at participating Old Sacramento bars.

But the Halloween fun doesn’t stop at the movie screen. Throughout the month, visitors can explore festive offerings from the businesses below! 

Whether you're looking for a spooky night out, a family-friendly fall adventure, seasonal treats, or just an excuse to get dressed up and explore, Halloween Town is the place to be this October.

The Parliament by Heringer Estates:

  • We will curate a special pairing with wine & Halloween candy. We plan to launch our new signature Sacramento Kings cocktail called “Feel the Roar”. At the end of the month, October 30th, we plan to have a DJ/ Halloween dance party

Old Sac Shirts & Gifts:

  • Halloween-themed squishies and 10% off fall or Halloween decorations

Ink and Image:

  • Put your face atop a skeleton printed on a shirt. $20.00 +tax (normally $25.00+tax). Light colored shirts only. Small to 2XL Youth shirts; Small to 3XL

Wild Sisters Book Company:

  • Treat yourself to a spooky read! Check out our spooky display of books for all ages in store. The store will also be decked out in Halloween decor!

EcoPress Sacramento:

  • I will have mystery grab bags of 3D-printed Halloween-themed items, linocut-themed prints, mystery Halloween earrings, and so much more. I will have a raffle to laser engrave someone’s favorite 2 horror movies into 2 coasters! You enter by purchasing at the store & signing up for the raffle!

Threadeco:

  • Costumes – find a costume at Threadeco you can wear again, pair it with some accessories from Evangeline’s.

Death by Natural Causes at the Paperworks by Stage Nine:

  • For the entire month of October, we will be gifting guests (with proof of ticket) a $5 voucher for Candy (located between Stage Nine and G. Willikers). Offer valid on weekends in October.

Sacramento History Museum:

  • Ghost Tours – Some deaths are tragic. Some are mysterious. And some are just… strange.
  • This October, the “ghosts” of early Sacramento come to life to tell their stories once again for the Sacramento History Museum’s annual Ghost Tours.
  • Join us on tour for an eerie evening of baffling, unusual, and bizarre deaths that really happened in Sacramento’s past. You may come away with a few chills, a few laughs, and a whole new appreciation for just how strange life—and death—can be.
  • Tours run Fridays and Saturdays: October 16, 17, 23, 24, and 30. Tickets are $35 and recommended for ages 8 and up. Don’t make a grave mistake by waiting until it’s too late!
