Early Sacramento’s politicians and citizens dueled with whatever weapons they could get their hands on. Learn all about historic sword duels with the Sacramento Historical Fencing Academy THIS Saturday, February 3, from 10:00 am – 12:00 p.m.

Using 19th Century texts as study, the Sacramento Historical Fencing Academy will be demonstrating reconstructed martial arts techniques focused on sword play, in the Sacramento History Museum. Learn about the history and get a close look at techniques with Scottish broadswords, as seen in TV shows such as Outlander, as well as Spanish rapiers in the style of “La Verdadera Destreza”.

This event is included with admission to the Sacramento History Museum, and as an added bonus, kids for this special day are free!
