Sacramento History Museum
The Sacramento History Museum will be open to homeschool groups to participate in some of our educational school programs on November 5, 2025 and February 4, 2026! Homeschool Days will start at 10:00 am and go until 3:00 pm, with check in at 10:00 am.
The Sacramento History Museum will be offering special Homeschool Days on November 5, 2025 and February 4, 2026! The day will start at 10:00 am and go until 3:00 pm, with check in at 10:00 am.
The Museum will be open to homeschool groups to participate in some of our educational programs. We will have two scheduled programs that will be led by docents and several drop-in programs where docents can provide assistance. For the scheduled programs, you will have a chance to sign up for the time slots, each slot has a limit of 35 people (students and adults). This time we will be offering two student Underground tours for an additional $8 each, limit of 20 people (students and adults) per time slot. Student Underground Tour sign-ups will be in person.
The cost is:
For Museum Members: $8 each for students and adults, under 5 years old free
For Non-Members: $12 each for students and adults, under 5 years old free
Add-on Underground Tour at either 11:00 am or 12:30 pm: $8 for students and adults, under 5 years old free*
You must be pre-registered to attend the event.
Programs offered on Homeschool Day:
- Drop-in programs all day (10:00 am to 3:00 pm): Museum Scavenger Hunt
- Drop-in programs from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm: History Mystery and Nisenan
- Drop-in programs from 1 pm to 3 pm: Gold Panning and Gold Rush
- Student Underground Tour Add-on (1 hour): 11:00 am and 12 pm
- Scheduled programs with timed presentations: Print Shop (30 minutes) (10:30 am, 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm) and Heading West (1 hour) (11:00 am and 1:00 pm).
