4th of July Boat Parade
The Sacramento Yacht Club will be hosting a “Red, White & Crew” Boat Parade along the Sacramento River on Friday, July 4th at 1:30 PM. The parade will start at the Sacramento Marina and travel upriver through Old Sacramento to the Virgin Sturgeon Restaurant and back. This is a great event for friends and family of all ages.
Grab lunch and watch the parade from one of Sacramento’s riverfront restaurants, such as the Virgin Sturgeon, Crawdads, and Joe’s Crab Shack, or watch the parade from the Old Sacramento Waterfront Embarcadero. We look forward to seeing you there, and be sure to wave as this year’s festive parade of boats passes by!!
Excursion Train Rides
The California State Railroad Museum and Foundation are pleased to welcome guests aboard the historic Sacramento Southern Railroad. Enjoy a 50-minute historic scenic train ride along the Sacramento River and experience railroading as it was in the early part of the last century.
Location
Tickets must be picked up from the Central Pacific Passenger Station at the corner of Front and J Streets in Old Sacramento. The ticket office opens 45 minutes before the first departure. Please bring your photo ID and your membership card if you purchased member tickets. Tickets must be picked up 15 minutes before the scheduled departure. Trains leave promptly at scheduled departure times.
Accessibility
Due to the historic nature of the coaches, all passengers must be able to climb a narrow set of stairs to board the coaches. Due to limited aisle widths, wheelchairs, mobility devices, and strollers are not permitted on the coaches. Temporary storage for devices is provided at the passenger station. Should you have any questions regarding accessibility, please call the Membership Office, Monday–Friday from 10 am – 5 pm at (916) 445-5995

Golden Hour Express
Welcome Aboard the Golden Hour Express Cocktail Train – Summer Nights in Old Sacramento!
July 23rd and 30th, experience the magic of a golden California evening aboard the Golden Hour Express Train. Depart from historic Old Sacramento for a scenic, hour-long round-trip journey along the Sacramento River.
Relax in the comfort of our first-class, air-conditioned cars or take in the sunset from an open-air gondola — the choice is yours. With sweeping riverside views, refreshing beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), and a vibrant social atmosphere, it’s the perfect way to toast the evening.
Each ticket includes two drink tokens to enjoy during the ride.
Welcome aboard the Golden Hour Express — where the sun meets the river, and the night begins!
IMPORTANT: THIS EVENT IS OPEN ONLY TO THOSE 21 AND OLDER. YOU MUST HAVE YOUR ID AT THE TIME OF BOARDING.
Parking/RT/Transit Info
Cobblestones and cars don’t mix! Park in the garages!
Two public parking garages offer the easiest way to park:
Old Sacramento Garage, entrance on I Street between 3rd and 2nd.
Tower Bridge Garage, entrance on Capitol Blvd at Neasham Circle near the Tower Bridge.

Suggested drop-off locations – these locations will include a short 5-minute walk to Old Sacramento
- On the east side of 4th between L Street and Capitol Mall
- On the north side of J Street between 3rd and 5th Street

By Bus
Check sacrt.com/schedules or call 916-321- BUSS (2877) to plan your trip before riding. Please check the schedules to ensure that you board your return bus or train before the last trip of the evening.

Stop on 3rd St. between I and L, only a one-block walk from Old Sacramento Waterfront. Other downtown routes are no more than a half-mile walk from the historic district. More information at www.sacrt.com.
